Roelof Johannes Hendrik Kruisinga (27 August 1922 - 7 December 2012) was a Dutch physician and politician. Kruisinga was born in Grijpskerk. His family was doopsgezind, but Kruisinga decided not to be baptized and to become a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. As a physician he specialised in otolaryngology and he received his doctorate at the University of Groningen in 1955. He held different positions as a physician before he became State Secretary for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Care and subsequently State Secretary for the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. From 1971 to 1977 he was leader of the Christian Historical Union. He was Minister of Defense under Prime Minister Dries van Agt from 1977 to 1978. In the early eighties he became vice-president of the World Health Organization. Afterwards he became a member of the Senate, serving from 1981 to 1991 and representing the Christian Democratic Appeal.
